Courses
This class is dedicated to getting younger kids (Ages 5 – 10) comfortable with the sea. We practice swimming, learn about our marine environment, learn basic sailing terms, and the skill of tying knots. But most importantly…We Go Sailing!
Students will learn the absolute basics of sailing in this course and spend time building upon those skills until they become comfortable in the boats and out on the water. With the perfect mix of theory and practice, kids will gain an understanding of how the wind works and affects sails, learn the basic parts of the boat, knots, basic manouevers, rules of the road and so much more!
This course has a lot more theory and goes way more into depth about the actual physics of sailing, and learning how to make your sailboat go as fast as it can, and making smarter decisions when out on the water. In this course we also begin to go more into the racing and learning how to compete against other sailors, while incorporating workouts so that we can build strength and stay fit. We are preparing our youth to then move on and be better equipped as crew or captains in bigger sailboats such as our local racing boats.
Persons who have always wanted to try out sailing and experience what its like to be out on the water now have the chance to with our adult classes. These classes will teach the basics of sailing, and allow for persons to become comfortable commanding their own boats. Not only will you learn a lot in this course, but you also get the chance to be active and have fun while doing so.
We offer a variety of sailboats for rent for persons who already have some sailing experience and are comfortable on the water.
These classes are very flexible in terms of availability and skills required. It allows for persons to get the full experience of having a coach dedicated to teaching only you and your group, and also allows for you to learn at your own pace. We cater to all, whether its learning to command the boat yourself, or just enjoying a private sail around the bay.
